Canada Water Studios School of Dance offers classes in Ballet & Modern Dance for children aged 2 ½ years and upwards.
All Ballet classes are accompanied by live piano music allowing children to interpret and understand a range of music styles.
Our 2 ½ to 4 year old classes are very special as they are a child’s first experience of the world of dance. CWS provides structured classes, which include set ballet exercises and steps, nursery rhymes and magical stories, encouraging children to develop their imagination.
Ballet in the Cecchetti method is taught to pupils of 4 years and upwards. Children are given the opportunity to work towards their Cecchetti Ballet Examinations and are adjudicated by examiners from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).
Children are encouraged to work hard, aiming for good examination results whilst at the same time having fun in discovering the world of dance.
Some children at CWS take their ballet extremely seriously, however the majority of our pupils dance for fun and our classes at CWS aim to develop an enthusiasm and passion in dance which we hope will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
